The 2010-11 Skills Investment Strategy sets out how Government investment for 2010-11 aims to support further education and skills training for post 19 learners. The Skills Funding Agency distributes the funding. The strategy is set by The Department for Business Innovation & Skills (BIS) to deliver the national skills priorities identified by the UKCES.

The Skills Funding Agency is also charged with the implementation of regional skills strategies that will be set by Regional Development Agencies as part of their Single Integrated Regional Strategies. These strategies seek to ensure that provision meets the skills gaps identified by employers in each region.
